Doctorate program phases

Doctorate program phases

  1. 1. Intake and selection
  2. 2. Module ‘Scientific Research and Analysis’ (SRA)
  3. 3. Pre-study – theme selection, research plan, promoter
  4. 4. Empirical research- policy research and fieldwork, analysis
  5. 5. DBA/doctorate degree- thesis, dissertation

  1. 1. The intake is used to determine whether the student needs the SRA-module, or to determine which phases can be skipped. A study contract will be formulated. The intake- and selection process is accompanied by a senior lecturer (not necessarily the same person as the promoter) and the dean or study counsellor. In this phase, a scan to determine the student’s skills and personality will be used
  2. .

  1. 2. The study approach and program of the doctorate degree is reviewed in accordance to the student. Based on the theme selection a promoter is assigned, but students are also able to consult other head masters.

  1. 3. Every three months a doctorate-seminar is organised in the research phase. This meeting is focused on students who are interested in the contributions of head masters or teachers for their research program. It can also be used for consultation regarding research and (extra) facilities. Each phase -dependent of the set agreements- can be finished with a written report of the student, and therefore the thesis can gradually be finished.

  1. 4. In the doctorate degree phase, the thesis leads to a dissertation which will be assessed by a committee (the committee consists of head masters of Personal Branding University). A plenary discussion of the dissertation takes place in front of a doctorate forum. It ends with a ceremony, where the student graduates and obtains the DBA degree.
